LINOIL
From nature to design

At Krono System | Eurocomponenti it is sustainability that drives our creations. By studying and testing natural elements and their potential, today LINOIL is born, the natural covering of Linoleum for panels and furniture components, that enhances its elegance, the natural matt finish. Represents a sustainable and ecological choice for those who are looking for furnishing solutions that respect the environment.

Sustainabilty at your fingertips

LINOIL – Linoleum is the advanced solution that rewrites the rules of the surfaces in matt finishes for furniture, by concentrating on the respect of the environment, throughout the process of sourcing the raw materials right through to the final production. This surface for furniture is composed of raw materials which are all almost entirely natural, that ensure a neutral impact on the CO2 emissions from their collection to the supply of the product from the factory (Cradle to Gate). When they reach the end of use, the surface can be separated from the main board and burnt to produce energy.

Nature becomes an ingredient of design

The sustainability of this new product actually begins from its composition: six elements of natural origin that merging together allow you to create plasmabile, versatile and resistant surfaces. A fundamental component is the oil from the flax seeds extracted by a pressing process. To this is added pine resin, which contrasts the accumulation of static loads preventing the bacterial profileration, wood dust, obtained from wood only from certified forests, and the calcium carbonate powder, used as a filler. Then finally the pigments are added, to achieve the surface colour selected. The sixth element is the support layer, 90% cellulose, obtained from biological organic farming, onto which a paste is applied and used as a strengther.

How linoil - linoleum is created

The process starts with the oxidation of the flax seeds which are mixed with the pine resin to obtain a dense and compact material. This is then stored for a few days before being mixed with other elements. The final product is then dried in a temperature controlled environment until it reaches the perfect maturity.

The matt finish of the panels and the components covered with LINOIL - Linoleum has been studied specifically to avoid any eventual reflection of light and provide a total matt effect. Its composition guarantees a scratchproof and finger print material, suitable for any type of interior environment. As well as being a material resistant to diluted acids, oils, grease and conventional solvents.

LINOIL - Linoleum is a hygenic and safe surface material. Antibacterial: the oxidation of the flax seed oil does infact guarantee an environment that prevents, in a completely natural way, the profileration of bacteria. Naturally antistatic: reduces the gathering of dust and surface dirt. Resulting in an eco-sustainabile material that remains clean longer.

How to clean linoil - linoleum

To maintain the vivid, lively colour and preserve the finishing, we advise a regular cleaning of the surface with a dry microfibre dustcloth or a damp dustcloth using only water, complete the cleaning procedure by drying gently with a cotton cloth. Every so often it is advisable a more complete cleaning process by using water and a detergent with a neutral PH ingredient and a damp cloth, always dry afterwards gently with a cotton cloth. Preferably use bottled mineral water, as normal tap water could contain a significant quantity of limestone that could leave traces on the surface.

How to protect linoil - linoleum

All abrasive materials may damage the surface so we advise the use of protective felt pads on the base of objects that might damage the surface. Any stains/marks should be removed immediately and we recommend the use of coaster mats for further protection. If a scratch should occur, it is possible to repair the damaged part by applying oil for wooden furniture, or by rubbing with the pulp of a walnut: the vegetable oils in it do infact make any scratch fade away while maintaining the original matt finish. Always complete any cleaning process with a dry cotton dustcloth.
